

Peter Allen ACA was appointed Non-Executive Chairman in December 2007. He was CFO and Deputy CEO of Celltech Group plc between 1992 and 2004. In addition to managing the company's flotation process in 1993, leading to a listing on the London Stock Exchange, Peter played a key role in several strategic acquisitions, including Chiroscience, Medeva and Oxford Glycosciences. In May 2004, Peter was a key participant in the sale of Celltech to UCB. Prior to this, he was Group Financial Controller of Associated British Ports Holdings plc and Financial Controller with L'Oreal (UK) Ltd. In April 2005, he was appointed CFO of Abacus Group plc, the quoted electronics distributor.


Dr Wilson Totten, a medically qualified executive with over 20 years experience in international pharmaceutical businesses, moved to ProStrakan as CEO in 2004. Previously he was on the main board of Shire plc as Group R&D Director and, before that, held senior posts with Astra, Fisons, 3M and Eli Lilly. Wilson has wide international experience of the pharmaceutical sector covering all phases of drug development and commercial aspects such as licensing, joint ventures and business development.


Paul Garvey joined ProStrakan in April 2007. He is a Chartered Accountant who has spent the majority of his working life in industry. He joined the Group from Axis-Shield plc, the Scottish-based healthcare diagnostics company, where he was Finance Director and Company Secretary for the past seven years. Prior to that, Paul held positions as Finance Director and Managing Director of three other industrial groups involved in the engineering, chemicals and construction services sectors. He has a BBS from Trinity College, Dublin.


Dr Michael Asbury is medically qualified and obtained an MRCP(UK) in 1973. He has held numerous general management and marketing positions in the pharmaceutical industry. In particular, he was International Marketing Director with Zeneca Pharmaceuticals and Vice President of Global Licensing at AstraZeneca. He has wide international experience of the development and marketing of ethical pharmaceuticals and all forms of corporate activity in the pharmaceutical industry. In addition, he is the non-executive chairman of Photopharmica, a non-executive board member of IPR Pharmaceuticals Puerto Rico and a trustee board member of the David Lewis National Epilepsy Centre.


Peter Cawdron is a qualified chartered accountant and spent 14 years with Grand Metropolitan, becoming a director in 1993. Previously he spent six years in the US with a major advertising agency preceded by seven years in merchant banking at SG Warburg. He currently serves on the Board of a number of public companies including Capita Group plc and Compass plc.


Dr Fildes was, until 2002, Senior Vice President, Head of Global Development with AstraZeneca where he had responsibility for the development, registration and support of the Company's worldwide product range. A physical chemist by training, he started his pharmaceutical career with ICI Pharmaceuticals and carried out a range of senior management roles with ICI and its successor, Zeneca Pharmaceuticals, including Head of Global Development Projects and Senior Vice President PreClinical Sciences. Dr Fildes is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine and the Royal Society of Chemistry.


Dr. Simon Turton is a Managing Director in the Healthcare group at Warburg Pincus, the global private equity firm. Before joining Warburg Pincus in 2002, he was a Principal at Index Ventures in Geneva. Previously, Simon worked for Servier, the French pharmaceutical company, where he managed Northern Asia operations in Tokyo and Paris. He also worked for a pharmaceutical strategic alliances consultancy where he was in charge of business development. Dr. Turton has an M.B.A. from INSEAD, which he attended as a Sainsbury Management Fellow in the Life Sciences, and a Ph.D. in Pharmacy from the University of London. He is a director of Archimedes Pharma, ProStrakan and Tornier.
